20th Annual SnowBall – March 2nd!

20th Annual SnowBall – March 2nd!

Eastern Plumas Recreation District (E.P.R.D.) and the Plumas Ski Club are proud to announce the twentieth annual Johnny Redstreake SnowBall, to be held March 2nd at Nakoma Golf Resort in Clio, CA (Eastern Plumas County). Ticket price: $35.

Over the past twenty years, the SnowBall has acquired the distinct honor of being the best party in the Northern Sierra and a sure cure for cabin fever. This year promises to carry on that proud tradition as we come into the home-stretch in the redevelopment effort at Johnsville Historic Ski Bowl. Look for delectable mountain cuisine brought to you by the region’s best chefs and restaurants: Sean Conry of Longboards, Nakoma Golf resort, The Lodge at Whitehawk and Kurt Haselton of Sardine Lake Lodge. The notorious “Johnsville kegs” will be provided by local libationists The Brewing Lair (formerly Under Cover Ale Works) and Eureka Peak Brewing Company (in-house brewer at Chalet View Lodge). Celebrants can support the cause while snatching up some great bargains in live and silent auctions, raffles on a host of necessities for mountain-living and outdoor lifestyles.

All proceeds go to support the re-opening of Johnsville Historic Ski Bowl. Through the hard work of our fundraising team and your generosity, we have accomplished $373,775 worth of capital investments and are only $271,700 away from completion of our Phase 1 redevelopment (encompassing chairlift engineering and installation as well as overall facility and infrastructure improvements). With your help, we can easily achieve this goal.

Once reopened, Johnsville will be an economic, recreational and cultural treasure for Eastern Plumas County. Enhanced winter recreation will keep the lights on in many of our business and vacation homes throughout the year, giving our local economy the boost it so badly needs. The park will provide a positive and healthy recreational resource to our local youths, strengthening our community by encouraging young families to build their lives here. The Longboard events hosted by the Plumas Ski Club celebrate our colorful past and preserve the rugged character and reverence of history that is uniquely Plumas County.

Donations to the Ski Johnsville Fund can be sent to E.P.R.D. at P.O. Box 391, Graeagle, CA 96103. Checks can be made to “Eastern Plumas Recreation Disctrict”, memo “ski johnsville”. All donations will help and we greatly appreciate whatever contribution you can afford to make in these hard times. Please follow our progress at skijohnsville.com and show your support by “Liking” us on Facebook.
